The hit multi-camera 1/2 Hour Disney Channel sitcom “Austin & Ally” is back for it’s second season and the casting directors are holding auditions for co-starring, guest-starring and day player roles. In addition, general background performers are being cast throughout the season. “Austin & Ally” officially premiered on December 4, 2011. Casting for the series regulars were conducted during a national Disney Channel talent search around the United States.
The popular ABC single-camera comedy series “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23” has been renewed for a second season by the network and the show’s casting directors are auditioning actors for recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. Extras are also being hired throughout the season into late Fall, 2012. The show premiered with the title of “Apartment 23“, however ABC eventually renamed it to the original title in October, 2011. The season premiere of “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23” airs October 23, 2012.
The major feature film “August: Osage County” is holding a second round of open casting calls and still accepting email submissions from people interested in working as fully paid background performers on the film. Shooting will take place in Northeastern Oklahoma, specifically in the Pawhuska and Bartlesville areas. Over 4,000 people showed up for a casting call on Saturday September 18th at Tulsa Promenade, although there was a location change announced just days prior to the open call. The casting directors want to open up the opportunity to as many people as possible. Speaking roles have been cast in Oklahoma, and additional roles could be cast throughout the shoot, which runs from September 24 through the end of October, 2012.
The boutique motion picture production company Serendipity Point Films is in pre-production on the horror-musical feature film “Stage Fright“, which is being described as Glee meets Scream. The film will feature lot’s of singing and dancing kids and teens, as the story takes place at a musical theatre camp. An open casting call is being held for dancers from the ages of 8 through 16 (or appear to be in that age range) to perform for the film’s choreographer. In addition, many background performers of the same age range are being cast, although not at this open call. Background must email their photo and contact information in to the extras casting directors.
Cunningham Escott Slevin & Doherty (CESD) talent agency is expanding it’s Adult Print Division in New York City. They are holding an open call for commercial print models, both male and female. Commercial print models appear in magazine ads, newspapers, online ads, billboards, catalogues, etc., shown promoting products and services. These products and services can be anything from fashion lines, makeup, hair products, weight loss programs, and literally anything that consumers purchase.

The Starz original series “Magic City” has been picked up for a second season and there will be an open casting call for talent to work as “core” background actors on multiple days per episode. The casting director will be booking paid wardrobe fittings and workdays on the spot. All types 18 years of age and older are needed especially people with a late 50s – early 60s look. Principal actor casting takes place in Los Angeles and New York, with additional smaller speaking roles cast in Miami. All extras and stand-ins are cast in Miami.

It’s a Laugh Productions is in production on the second season of the hit Disney Channel family teen sitcom series “Jessie“, and the casting directors are auditioning talent for recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. Extras are cast throughout the season in Los Angeles. “Jessie” was renewed for a second season of 24 episodes on March 11, 2012. There is also a Disney Channel Original Movie in development based on the series. Shooting will run through the end of Fall, 2012.
