DreamWorks Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox are in pre-production on the feature film “Robopocalypse”, based on the New York Times best selling science fiction novel of the same name by Daniel H. Wilson. Principal actor casting is taking place in Los Angeles, and additional casting will take place in Montreal, Canada where shooting will take place beginning in July, 2012. All of the film’s extras, stand-ins, and photo-doubles will be hired in Canada.

The next film in The Hunger Games trilogy, “Catching Fire“, will begin filming in North Carolina this coming Fall, 2012 with new director Francis Lawrence. Four-time Academy Award nominee Gary Ross announced that he will not be returning to direct Catching Fire, and there is a good chance that a different casting director will also be hired. It is most often the director who chooses the casting director, and three-time Casting Society of America Artios Award winner Debra Zane has cast every film that Gary Ross has directed or produced since 1998 including “Pleasantville”, “Seabiscuit”, and “The Tale of Despereaux“. Zane would likely cast Ross’ next project instead of “Catching Fire”.

Extras casting calls and registration is underway for the Marvel Studios superhero feature film “Iron Man 3″, which will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Shooting will take place in the Wilmington, NC area and other locations in North Carolina from May 21, 2012 through January, 2013. The film’s main stars are being cast out of Los Angeles, however many supporting and day player acting roles are being cast in North Carolina. All of the extras, photo-doubles and stand-ins for the films stars will be cast in North Carolina. An open extras casting call will take place on April 21st, 2012 in Wilmington, NC.

The search is on for the next leading ladies to star opposite Liam Hemsworth in the romantic thriller feature film “Timeless”. In addition to Hemsworth’s wife, and a new love interest, all of the starring and supporting roles are up for grabs in this time-travel movie where Liam’s character Rory builds a machine in order to visit his beloved late wife one last time. The powerhouse production company Relativity Media will begin shooting “Timeless” in Manhattan this coming July, 2012 after Liam Hemsworth wraps filming on “Empire State”.

The casting director for “The Hunger Games” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” is currently auditioning actors for co-starring and supporting roles in the NBC 1/2 hour single-camera comedy sitcom “1600 Penn”. Additional principal actor casting is taking place in New York. Shooting will take place beginning April 9, 2012 in Los Angeles, where all of the extras and stand-ins will be hired. The show features an all-star cast and can be described as a White House Washington political comedy.

Casting calls and auditions information for the second film in Suzanne Collin’s “The Hunger Games” trilogy – “Catching Fire” – will be posted at www.acting-auditions.org as they become available. Director Gary Ross, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have all signed on to all four of the Hunger Games films. “Mockingjay” will be shot as two separate films back-to-back just as “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” was filmed. Production on “Catching Fire” will begin late Summer/early Fall, 2012, and the movie will hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
