It’s that time of year again for Disney Channel and Disney XD to hold the first official open casting call of 2012, this one in Kansas City, Missouri. Casting directors are seeking boys and girls between the ages of 10 – 18 (or who look like they are 10 – 18) and are interested in acting, dancing, or singing. The purpose of these open casting calls is to discover talented young actors to be considered for upcoming original movies and series produced for Disney Channel and Disney XD.

It’s a Laugh Productions is currently in pre-production on a new series for Disney XD called “Crash & Bernstein”. The network has picked up the series from a pilot episode, and the lead role of a 13 year old boy is being re-cast. The casting director will also be casting guest stars, and day players. The extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins will be hired throughout production this Summer, 2012. Many kids and teens will be cast. The multi-camera series will launch on Disney XD in Fall, 2012. “Crash & Bernstein” is a live-action comedy with puppetry.

National talent search for boy and girl to star in feature film ‘Hidden’

Pictures elevated horror-thriller feature film “Hidden” is conducting a national talent search to find and unknown girl for the movie’s lead role, as well as a young boy for a supporting role. Submissions are being accepted for the young girl role on the film’s official casting website, being hosted by Cast It Talent, and are completely free of charge. Mail-in submissions are also being accepted for both roles. SAGAFTRA talent and non-union talent from any area in the United States will be considered. Filming will begin in Summer, 2012.

Production is set to begin on a new Disney Channel Original Movie titled “Who’s Your Monster” and casting for supporting and day player roles continues. Extras will be cast throughout filming in Vancouver, BC. The movie is Halloween themed, and set to premiere during Disney Channel‘s second annual month-long Monstober event in October, 2012. Shooting will begin on March 26, 2012 and continue through mid-May, 2012. The movie is about a girl who discovers her parents are monster hunters when she accidentally releases them from a secret containment chamber. She and her trusty techno friends must recapture the escaped demons and save her mom and dad.

Casting calls and auditions information for the second film in Suzanne Collin’s “The Hunger Games” trilogy – “Catching Fire” – will be posted at www.acting-auditions.org as they become available. Director Gary Ross, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have all signed on to all four of the Hunger Games films. “Mockingjay” will be shot as two separate films back-to-back just as “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” was filmed. Production on “Catching Fire” will begin late Summer/early Fall, 2012, and the movie will hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
