Mike Mitchell will direct the live-action scenes for “SpongeBob SquarePants 2”.
The little yellow fella that nearly everyone in America and beyond seems to love is back! Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Animation are in pre-production on the live-action/animated feature film “SpongeBob SquarePants 2”. The casting director has sent out casting calls for principal actor roles in Los Angeles, New York, as well as in Savannah, Georgia where shooting on the live-action scenes will take place from September 30, 2013 through November 5, 2013. Locations include sound stages in Savannah, locations in the downtown area, and on Tybee Island. Many extras will also be cast for a beach scene in Savannah.

Bluegrass Films and Harlan Films in association with Nick Wechsler Productions and The Combine are getting set to begin shooting the Focus Features true-story drama feature film “Kill The Messenger”, which is based on Pulitzer prize-winning investigative journalist Gary Webb’s series of articles. The principal actor casting directors are busy auditioning talent for many speaking roles, and now the extras casting director has issued a large casting call for all types of people interested in working on the film as fully paid background performers. Filming will take place beginning mid-July in Atlanta, GA.
Apatow Productions and Gary Sanchez Productions are in production on the feature film sequel “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” for Paramount Pictures. The extras casting directors in Atlanta, GA are seeking local people who have floor-length gowns and tuxedos or very nice black suits to work on April 25, 2013. Female talent must also either have a 1970s style haircut or be able to style their hair in a 70s manner. For this formal event scene, the casting directors only want people who have not previously worked on the film. Note: “Anchorman 2” aka “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” is going by the working title “Teaching Manheim”.
The hitLifetime Television series “Drop Dead Diva” has been officially brought back to life for a fifth season after being cancelled on January 15, 2013. There was a tremendous outcry from the show‘s fans, and showrunner Josh Berman credits the fans for the return of the comedy-drama television series. Lifetime signed a deal on March 1, 2013 with Sony Pictures Television that made the show economically viable not only for Season 5 but for seasons beyond. Now the casting director has scheduled open casting calls for talent in the metro Atlanta area to appear on the show as general background performers. Principal actor casting is also getting underway.
Alcon Entertainment in association with 8:38 Productions and Madhouse Entertainment are currently in pre-production on the crime thrillerfeature film “Prisoners” for Warner Bros. Pictures. Filming will begin in January, 2013 in Conyers, GA which is twenty four miles east of Atlanta. The local casting director is holding an open casting call seeking men and women of any ethnicity, ages 18 and over, with or without experience working as a movie extra. There are also some speaking roles being cast locally. The film is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2013.
