Amblin Television and Energy Entertainment are gearing up to begin production on the new futuristic sci-fi thriller CBS televisionseries “Extant”, produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Halle Berry as the central character. The show’s award winning casting director has sent out casting calls and will be holding auditions in Los Angeles for series regulars. Additional casting for possible recurring and guest starring roles will be taking place. The extras will be hired beginning in February, 2014 when shooting begins in Los Angeles.
Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television are in pre-production on a new multi-camera 1/2 hour comedy series pilot for CBS titled “Mom”. Shooting begins mid-April, 2013 in Los Angeles. Casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are holding auditions for series regulars, possible recurring, and guest starring roles. The extras will be cast throughout production in Los Angeles. There will be a classroom of fourth graders cast as extras, as well as many other types and ages.
Dreamworks Television and Amblin Television are in pre-production on a new science-fiction drama television series titled “Under The Dome” based on the novel by Steven King published in November 2009. Casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are conducting auditions for the show’s series regulars and recurring roles. Shooting will take place in Wilmington, NC beginning in March, 2013. All stand-ins for the series principal actors and all background performers will be cast in Wilmington. “Under The Dome” is scheduled to premier on Monday June 24, 2013 at 10pm on CBS.
The hit Teen Choice Awards nominated CBSreality series “Big Brother 14” is currently holding open casting calls and accepting online applications. This is the first season with the new application process. In addition to casting for the new Houseguests, extras will be cast throughout the season from July through mid to late September, 2012. The extras are audience members in the studio when evicted guests are interviewed by Julie Chen. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, and be a United States Citizen to apply. Big Brother 13 posted its largest audience and highest adults 18-49 rating since 2004.
Blueprint Pictures has partnered with CBS Film to produce the comedy feature film “Seven Psychopaths”. Shooting is set to begin November, 2011 in Los Angeles and the casting directors are auditioning actors for supporting and day player roles. The extras, stand-ins and photo-doubles for the film’s stars will be hired in Los Angeles closer to the start of shooting.

The CBS Network is known as “The Tiffany Network” and their showcases are known as the “Rolls Royce” of showcases, featuring the dynamic duo of Rick Najera and Fern Orenstein, CBS VP Casting, who change the professional lives and provide them access to open doors within the entertainment industry.

Warner Horizon Television and TNT will begin filming the continuation of the “Dallas” series in October, 2012. The original series aired on CBS from 1978 to 1991. The new series will center primarily around J.R. Ewing’s son John Ross, and Bobby’s adopted son Christopher. Casting for the series stars and guest stars is taking place in Los Angeles, and casting for smaller speaking roles, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins is taking place in Dallas, TX where shooting will take place.
