NBC Universal is holding an open casting call for the upcoming three-hour live staging and telecast of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical “The Sound of Music”. The casting call is for boys and girls who can play roles between the ages of 6-14. The characters being cast are the seven Von Trapp Children. NBC will air the live broadcast on December 5, 2013. The casting team is seeking kids who are very good dancers with excellent acting skills.
The upcoming coming-of-age Paramount Pictures feature film “Labor Day” is currently accepting submissions from boys and girls between the ages of 10 – 17 years of age, including a mentally handicapped boy between 12 – 17 years of age. These are for two lead roles and one supporting role to star opposite Academy Award winner Kate Winslet and Academy Award nominated Josh Brolin. Shooting will take place in the Boston, MA area starting in June, 2012.
It’s a Laugh Productions and Primetime Emmy nominated producer Mark Brazill are producing a new multi-camers comedy series pilot for Disney XD. The project was formally titled “Billion Dollar Freshman”. The show is casting an early teens female series regular, as well as a 40ish male series regular.
