Happy Madison Productions in association with Gulfstream Pictures and Kiki Tree Productions are now filming the romantic comedy feature film “Blended”, and the extras casting director has sent out a casting call for people who are interested in working as fully paid background performers. The production is in need of all ages and types. Shooting is taking place through August 16, 2013 in the Lake Lanier/Buford area northeast of Atlanta, GA.
The hit Lifetime Television series “Drop Dead Diva” has been officially brought back to life for a fifth season after being cancelled on January 15, 2013. There was a tremendous outcry from the show‘s fans, and showrunner Josh Berman credits the fans for the return of the comedy-drama television series. Lifetime signed a deal on March 1, 2013 with Sony Pictures Television that made the show economically viable not only for Season 5 but for seasons beyond. Now the casting director has scheduled open casting calls for talent in the metro Atlanta area to appear on the show as general background performers. Principal actor casting is also getting underway.
Marc Platt Productions and Phantasma Films in association with Bold Films are in pre-production on the feature film “How To Catch a Monster” written and directed by Ryan Gosling. The casting director is conducting and online open casting call searching for starring and co-starring roles in the film. Shooting will take place in the Detroit, Michigan area beginning in May, 2013. They are currently looking for a boy who looks between 3-6 years of age and a male who is over 18 and appears to be between 17-19 years of age. Additional roles will be cast through open casting calls.

The Starz original series “Magic City” has been picked up for a second season and there will be an open casting call for talent to work as “core” background actors on multiple days per episode. The casting director will be booking paid wardrobe fittings and workdays on the spot. All types 18 years of age and older are needed especially people with a late 50s – early 60s look. Principal actor casting takes place in Los Angeles and New York, with additional smaller speaking roles cast in Miami. All extras and stand-ins are cast in Miami.
The Walt Disney Pictures feature film “Lone Ranger” is holding an open casting call in Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 11, 2011 for people interested in working as paid extras. The film’s remaining supporting roles are still being cast in Los Angeles, and smaller speaking roles, extras, stand-ins, and photo-doubles for the film’s stars are being cast in New Mexico. Shooting will take place in New Mexico from February 13, 2012 through July 14, 2012.
The Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Entertainment, and Legendary Pictures feature film “Superman: Man of Steel” will be holding open casting calls in Nanaimo and Ucluelet on Vancouver Island. The film is seeking local people to work as background artists in scenes to be filmed in early October. This is fully paid work. There will be some casting for speaking roles in Vancouver, however this open casting call is for extras only. “Superman: Man of Steel” is currently filming in the Chicago, Illinois area and shooting will move to British Columbia on September 21, 2011. Filming will continue in Vancouver and surrounding areas through January 20, 2012.
The Sony Pictures Classics major motion picture “Mud” is gearing up for production in central and south Arkansas this fall, 2011. The film’s casting directors in Los Angeles and Arkansas are conducting a talent search seeking a teen boy for a starring role and a teen female for a supporting role. There will also be about 400 actors, extras and stand-ins for the film’s actors hired locally in Arkansas. “Mud” stars Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon.
